Why create The Hub?

One of my primary objectives as President of the Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce was to create a regional young professionals network in the Hudson Valley.  I thought we needed to establish a more effective vehicle to build opportunities for people either starting out their careers, or to help individuals become connected to the community as they build their careers.  Of course and at the same time, we’ve all been witness to the incredible “brain drain” and loss of young professional talent that our region has experienced over the past several years as well.  The formation of The Hub is just one more way of trying to keep young folks here—giving them opportunities and reasons why they should build their careers and raise their families right here in the Hudson Valley.  I’m infinitely proud not only of the organization, but to be affiliated with the wonderful people who have stepped up to serve on the Advisory Council and have made our organization what it is today.
